Born on December 19, 1947 in South Whitley, Indiana, was Janie Fricke, country music singer, best remembered for a series of country music hits in the early to mid 1980's. Fricke was one of the most popular female country singers of the 1980's and won the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year awards in 1982 and 1983.

Twice she has been nominated for the coveted Grammy Award, once for her It ain’t Easy Being Easy. In her recording career, Janie has released 23 albums and 36 hit singles.

Born January 4, 1957 Pikeville, Kentucky, was Patty Loveless, country music singer, songwriter. Loveless has charted more than forty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. She rose to stardom thanks to her blend of honky tonk and country-rock and a plaintive, emotional ballad style. Throughout her career, Loveless has sold 15 million albums worldwide.

Born November 27, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, was Eddie Rabbitt, singer-songwriter and musician who as a songwriter in the late 1960s, wrote such hits as "Kentucky Rain" for Elvis Presley in 1970 and "Pure Love" for Ronnie Milsap. Rabbitt also had the 1976 US #1 Country hit with "Drinkin' My Baby (Off My Mind)”. Later in the 1970s, Rabbitt helped to develop the crossover-influenced sound of country music prevalent in the 1980s with such hits as "Suspicions" and "Every Which Way but Loose." He died from lung cancer at the age of 56 on 7th May 1998.

Born December 5, 1967 was Gary Allan. Overall, Allan's nine studio and greatest hits albums have produced 26 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, including number one hits.

His sound is heavily influenced by the Bakersfield scene, especially Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. He prefers this sound to that of the more pop country that is prevalent on country radio, because "the songs have got to have soul, have real meaning....Country music is...what happens during the week. Rock 'n roll is about what happens at the weekend." Because his sound is different from many of the current crop of country singers, as their sound is considerably more pop or rock, Allan has, at times had difficulty getting radio to play his singles. He says he has to "walk a real fine line" to "make sure that I get traditional stuff on the radio."

In the late 60s, James Marvell was a member of the Warner Brothers' solid gold band Mercy. Their classic "Love Can Make You Happy" topped Billboard with Elvis, Sinatra and the Beatles! Then in the early 70s Marvell formed the trendsetting Country Outlaw duo Country Cavaleers with his teenage music friend Buddy Good. They wound up on MGM Records booked on shows with such greats as Conway & Loretta, Mel Tillis, Faron Young, Bobby G. Rice and other country stars. Today in 2018, Marvell is still grateful for his fans, and radio stations like Outlaw Country Radio 102.7 FM still airing his hits and new releases. 

Born November 5, 1911 in Cincinnati, Ohio, was Roy Rogers, singer and cowboy actor, one of the most heavily marketed and merchandised stars of his era, as well as being the namesake of the Roy Rogers Restaurants franchised chain. He and his wife Dale Evans, his golden palomino, Trigger, and his German Shepherd dog, Bullet, were featured in more than 100 movies & The Roy Rogers Show. The show ran on radio for 9 years before moving to TV from 1951 - 1957. Rogers died of congestive heart failure on July 6, 1998, he was residing in Apple Valley, California.
